Meet The Team

Founder & CEO
Vanessa Alcala, M.S. CCC-SLP
As the founder of TheraVolve Wellness Co., Vanessa is passionate about helping individuals communicate with confidence. A first-generation college graduate fluent in English and Spanish, she holds a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida. With expertise in bilingual speech therapy and public speaking coaching, she empowers clients of all ages to strengthen their voices in personal and professional settings.

Her clinical background includes outpatient and skilled nursing care, specializing in neurogenic communication disorders, dysphagia, bilingualism, dementia, and voice rehabilitation. She studied abroad in Brazil, focusing on dysphagia and aural rehabilitation, and contributed to research at the University of South Florida on bilingual external visual memory aids for individuals with dementia.
As a mother raising a bilingual child, she understands firsthand the power of language in shaping identity, connection, and cognitive development. She values quality time with her family, whether through travel, shared meals, or meaningful conversations around the dinner table. Beyond clinical work, Vanessa mentors healthcare entrepreneurs and guides professionals in building personal brands through public speaking. She takes a holistic, culturally responsive approach, ensuring clients feel heard, supported, and equipped to thrive.

Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist
Natalia Osorio, M.S. CCC-SLP
Born in Tampa and raised in South Florida, Natalia Osorio brings six years of experience working with both children and adults across a variety of clinical settings. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics with minors in Spanish and Psychology from Florida Atlantic University before pursuing her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from Carlos Albizu University.
Throughout her career, she has worked in skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and schools, developing expertise in bilingual communication, cognitive-communication therapy, dysphagia management, and pediatric speech therapy. Natalia has experience providing patient and caregiver education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and functional treatment planning to support individuals at every stage of life.

As a mom herself, Natalia understands the challenges parents face when seeking the best support for their child’s communication needs. She is passionate about providing personalized, evidence-based care to help individuals find their voice and improve their quality of life. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, dancing, and catching sunsets on Florida’s West Coast with her family.

Clinical Fellow Speech-Language Pathologist
Mikayla Castillo, M.S. CF-SLP
A Tampa native, Mikayla Castillo is passionate about helping individuals regain their voice and confidence in communication, with a strong dedication to adult speech therapy, cognitive-communication, and voice rehabilitation. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University and has gained hands-on experience in acute care, pediatric therapy, and school-based settings.
Her clinical background includes work at Tampa General Hospital, where she assessed and treated language, motor speech, cognitive, swallowing, and voice disorders in an adult acute care setting, as well as pediatric home health and private practice. Under the mentorship of Vanessa Alcala, M.S., CCC-SLP, Mikayla is further refining her expertise to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care that empowers her clients.

Outside of work, Mikayla has been a lifelong dancer, training since the age of four and continuing to perform today. She also has a deep love for traveling and exploring national parks, with a goal of visiting every U.S. national park—she’s already checked off seven! A food enthusiast, she especially enjoys Greek cuisine and discovering new Mediterranean flavors. She believes that, much like dance, communication is a powerful form of self-expression, and she brings that same energy, dedication, and passion into every therapy session.
